Modern Kitchen Fitters - Fixed Price Trade

Modern Designed Kitchens

When we talk about modern design we generally mean clean straight lines, blocks of colour, synthetic man made materials, open functional spaces and no clutter.

Here at Fixed Price Trade we have found that modern fitted kitchens are very popular in the North East especially in properties with an open floor plan or limited space.

A modern fitted kitchen can work well in all different types of properties. In a small apartment the clean straight lines and uncluttered styling gives the illusion of space. In a large family kitchen a modern design can make a real statement, with a large functional island, smooth flowing surfaces, stainless steel appliances and modern flooring.

Traditional Fitted Kitchen - Fixed Price Trade

Traditional Kitchens

Unlike a modern designer kitchen a traditional kitchen is made up of layered ornate details.

Traditional kitchens are more commonly seen in larger family properties in rural areas where a large space might feel cold and empty with a modern style kitchen.

A traditional kitchen would usually be made of wood, often with distressed wood cabinets, wood table and chairs, often the wood will be painted in a white or off-white colour. The distressed look lends itself to an 'Old World' feel, helping to make a large airy room feel comforting, cosy and inviting.

Where a modern kitchen might have flat cupboard doors with no handles, chrome table legs and hidden shelving, a traditional kitchen might have raised panel doors, carved wooden pillars, ornate handles and traditional shelving.

Cottage Style Kitchens

A cottage style kitchen is always a pleasure to see, it's warm and inviting and can work well in small or medium sized kitchens.

The cottage kitchen is a good choice if on a budget with textures, patterns, unique individual pieces of furniture and clever choice of materials creating the look.

In a cottage style kitchen, cups, saucers and pots are often on display rather than being hidden away in cupboards and drawers, this gives a practical working kitchen feel that is popular in more rural parts of the North East.

Rustic Fitted Kitchens - Fixed Price Trade

Rustic Style Kitchens

A rustic kitchen uses warm tones and distressed wood work to create it's look.

In the last year here at Fixed Price Trade we have noticed a large increase in rustic style kitchens being requested in the North East.

As a rustic kitchen consists of a lot of dark wood, bare brick walls and warm tones, we recommend that they only be fitted in large kitchen spaces, fitted into a small space, flat or apartment it can make the kitchen feel dark and small, a modern designer kitchen would be more suited for small spaces, but for those of us who are lucky enough to have a larger kitchen space, a rustic style kitchen for creating a beautiful welcoming kitchen and dining area.
